The 29th Annual Volley For SERV Tennis Tournament will take place June 12, 2019 at Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman.
Volley For SERV (VFS) raises funds for exceptional programs for youth and adults throughout New Jersey who are recovering from severe mental illness and/or coping with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
It is a daylong event featuring a nine-division doubles tennis tournament followed by an evening reception with open bar, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, live entertainment, Fund-A-Need appeal, silent auction, raffle drawing, player awards, door prizes, and more.
During the evening reception, two individuals will be honored for their support of SERV’s mission. Dan Saragnese of Princeton will receive the 9th Annual Lou Natale Jr. Players Award for his continual participation in and support of Volley For SERV; and David Stafford of Hasbrouck Heights, a longtime board member, will receive the SERVice Award for demonstrating extraordinary leadership and dedication to the mission of SERV.
The VFS Committee is chaired by SERV Foundation Board Member Ted Golfinopoulos. Members include SERV Foundation Board Chairperson Andre Caldini; community members Joanna Adu, Karen Balerno, Beth Silverman-Bauman, Rob Boss, Ben Branche, Albie Delgado, Marissa Delmauro, Gwen Guidice, Donna Nagel, Deneshia Rowe, David Russo, and Charles Villano Jr.; and SERV staff members Ida Doolan, Carolyn Mayo, and Karla Stein.
Tennis players may sign up at a cost of $400 for a team, which includes the tournament, lunch, event dri-fit tennis shirt, commemorative team photo, and the dinner reception. Reception-only tickets are $110 each.
